The Historic Holiday Home Tour features six magnificent homes within the West Ave/West by the River Historic District near Downtown Elyria, Ohio.

On December 15th, we invite you to tour the West by the River Historic District. Explore the inside of lovely old houses with festive holiday decorations.

  • Tickets for the event are priced at $15 if purchased in advance or $18 if bought at the event itself. It is important to note that pre-sale tickets are picked up on the day of the event; these tickets will not be mailed to attendees beforehand. Each person needs their own ticket, and ticket purchases are non-refundable. On December 15th the ticket station will be located at 503 West Avenue in the garage. There will be signage to point the way at the event.

  • The event will happen rain or shine and is self-guided, allowing you to visit homes in any order after picking up your tickets. Please allow enough time to enjoy the tour, which may take several hours. Homeowners and volunteers will be available to assist you.

  • Parking is available on city streets and in nearby lots. Please note that due to the homes' historic nature, some stops may not be handicap accessible.

  • For those wishing to pay by check, please send payments to WBTR P.O. Box 24, Elyria, Ohio 44036. Checks must arrive at least two weeks before the event; and checks will not be accepted after this or on the day of the event.

  • All ticket purchasers agree to the Ticket Liability Waiver and Release (see below)

The six homes below that are on tour this year will offer a captivating glimpse into a variety of architectural styles. Each home showcases unique design elements and stories that reflect the rich heritage of the West by the River Historic District. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore these remarkable residences while appreciating their individual charm and character.

Ticket Liability Waiver and Release

By purchasing a ticket for the Historic Holiday Home Tour (hereinafter referred to as "the Tour"), you (hereinafter referred to as "the Ticket Holder") agree to the following terms and conditions:

  • Assumption of Risk -- The Ticket Holder acknowledges and understands that participation in the Tour involves certain risks, including but not limited to, risks associated with walking through historic properties, uneven terrain, stairs, and other potential hazards. The Ticket Holder voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation in the Tour.

  • Release of Liability -- The Ticket Holder, on behalf of themselves, their heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby releases, waives, discharges, and covenants not to sue the organizers of the Tour, their affiliates, officers, agents, employees, and volunteers (hereinafter referred to as "the Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the Ticket Holder, or to any property belonging to the Ticket Holder, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise, while participating in the Tour.

  • Indemnification -- The Ticket Holder agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage, or costs, including court costs and attorneys' fees, that may incur due to the Ticket Holder's participation in the Tour, Photographic Release -- The Ticket Holder grants permission to the Released Parties to use photographs, video recordings, or any other record of the Tour that may include the Ticket Holder's image or likeness for any legitimate purpose, including promotional and marketing activities.

  • Compliance with Rules and Regulations --The Ticket Holder agrees to comply with all rules and regulations established by the organizers of the Tour. The Ticket Holder understands that failure to comply with such rules and regulations may result in their removal from the Tour without refund.

  • Governing Law This Liability Waiver and Release -- shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state in which the Tour is conducted.

  • Acknowledgment of Understanding -- The Ticket Holder acknowledges that they have read this Liability Waiver and Release, fully understand its terms, and understand that they are giving up substantial rights, including the right to sue. The Ticket Holder acknowledges that they are signing this agreement freely and voluntarily, and intend by their purchase to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.

By purchasing a ticket, the Ticket Holder agrees to all of the above terms and conditions.
